Veteran’s Day

On November 11, 1918 the guns fell silent as the Great War came to an end.  The Paris edition of the New York Herald covered the armistice this way:

WWI001

The Historical Society’s headquarters will be closed on November 11th in honor of Veteran’s Day.  Everyone at the Historical Society of Montgomery County is grateful for the many sacrifices of the men and women in our armed forces.

“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.” John Fitzgerald Kennedy
